About the store

Welcome to Two Love Bugs! I am a current teacher who is passionate about making sure that learning is focused, fun and engaging. I am a veteran educator with more than 20 years experience in Elementary. I have taught all grades K-6, as I love the excitement of trying something new. I have also served as a Title I School Improvement Specialist, Behavior Teacher and STEAM Teacher. Currently, I teach a group of Enrichment 4th graders all subjects with a focus on STEAM education. I also teach future educators, as an Adjunct Faculty for a local state university! My goal with Two Love Bugs is to share my resources with you to ensure that your students find the fun in learning while being engaged! Teaching and learning should be something we look forward to and truly enjoy!

Experience

Teaching style

I believe that every student can learn and we have to meet them where they are! You can't hang cabinets, if you don't have any walls. Students often feel lost in ELA and Math, but if we can connect them to big ideas in STEAM, we will catch their attention and help them push through the tougher concepts.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I hold a BS in Elementary Education with an Educational Technology Minor. I also hold two master's degrees, one in Educational Technology and one in Bilingual Multicultural Education. I also hold a Reading Endorsement and Math Coach certification. I am trained in Orton-Gillingham, the Science of Reading, Multi-Sensory Reading Strategies, AVID, Culturally Responsive Teaching, Google+, and 95 Percent Group Multisyllabic Routines. I have served as a trainer for my district and teach future educators for a local state university.

Additional biographical information

I currently live in Mesa, Arizona with my hubby and our two beautiful daughters (Two Love Bugs). We also have two doodles and a bearded dragon. I married into a loving family with two step children who are all grown up and married. I was actually a Nonna before I was a Mama. I am lucky to teach at the same school with my hubs and where both of my children attend. It's a family affair! In my spare time (what is that?), I love to craft and enjoy time with my family. We are BIG Disney fans and quote movies constantly. I try to see the "silver lining" in everything that happens!
