In this activity the students will read a short fraction problem that demonstrates the amount of time spent on certain events using fractions. The student will have to identify each fractional part of the problem, then represent the fraction in various ways.

In this assignments students will read a multi-step word problem and analyze a given solution. Students will have to determine why the given solution is incorrect and provide their own solution. Students will have to explain their thinking by writing a short paragraph that justifies their solution.
