Understanding decimals (standard, money, place value, number lines, models)
Students will learn place value (hundredths, tenths, whole). Students will see how numbers relate to one another using multiple representations of numbers (standard, money, place value, number lines and models). This ppt will help students conceptualize decimals. You print last slide, so the students can shade in their models for better understanding. As with all my ppts, there is an assessment at the end of each section. Students will become familiar with number lines and those dreaded decimal

This ENGAGING lesson on adding and subtracting whole numbers will model perfectly for your students while you facilitate learning. Problems include hip hop stars that keep all students interested. As with all my ppts, an assessment will be at end of ppt. This can be modified for all students and will be great for review for older students.

This ppt is for students and teachers that want to understand rounding conceptually before teaching the trick. Students will see how numbers relate to each other on number lines by finding the middle value. Students will practice rounding tens, hundreds, thousands. This ppt is EXTREMLY effective for ESL and SPED students. A formative assessment is at the end of the lesson.

Students will extend their knowledge of rounding by using compatible numbers to estimate. Students will be modeled appropriate techniques to use in estimation. Practice problems and short assessment at the end.

Students will be introduced to standard form, word form and expanded notation. There are practice problems with modeling and a short assessment to provide feedback. Students will be introduced and assessed on the understanding of place value from going left or right becoming 10 times greater or one-tenth.
