Estimation and Compatible numbers
Students will extend their knowledge of rounding by using compatible numbers to estimate. Students will be modeled appropriate techniques to use in estimation. Practice problems and short assessment at the end.
3rd - 6th
Math
Expanded notation with decimals and decimal model review
Students will extend their knowledge of expanded notation by including decimals. The students will view perfect modeling and there is a section on visualizing models conceptually.
4th - 5th
Math
Adding and Subtracting Decimals
Students will get to see PERFECT modeling without you having to be at the board or under your document camera. The slides have animation which resemble the teacher's steps. Students will gain confidence and you as the teacher will see LESS misconceptions using this method. Numbers are color coded (works wonders for ELL and SPED students). Assessment is at the end!
4th - 7th
Math
Expanded notation and multiple representations of numbers
Students will be introduced to standard form, word form and expanded notation. There are practice problems with modeling and a short assessment to provide feedback. Students will be introduced and assessed on the understanding of place value from going left or right becoming 10 times greater or one-tenth.

I am 100% committed to increasing student achievement with the emphasis on students with previous learning gaps. I always introduce and review content using my ppts. My ppts always have a modeling, collaborative and formative assessment piece. The teaching style of my lessons is directly related to the Gradual Release model.
