Teaching style

My teaching style is structured, trauma-aware, and student-centered. I believe behavior is communication — and that students with emotional and behavioral needs deserve supports that teach skills, not just enforce compliance. My approach balances clear expectations, emotional regulation, cultural responsiveness, and consistency across settings. Every resource I create reflects this philosophy: Practical over theoretical Clear over complicated Supportive without lowering expectations The goal is always the same: strong systems that help students succeed and help teachers feel confident and supported.

Awards & shining teacher moments

My favorite moments as an educator and a special education programs facilitator are when general and special education teachers say: “This made my IEP meeting so much easier.” “I finally know what to write — and why.” “I feel protected using this language.” “This actually works in my classroom.” UnityEd tools are built for those moments — when clarity replaces overwhelm and teachers feel supported instead of feeling left alone to figure it out.

My own education history

Founded by an education professional with: Dual Master’s Degrees in Special Education and English Language Acquisition 10+ years as a Special Education Teacher Experience as a Special Education Compliance Facilitator Specialized expertise in behavior intervention, student support systems, and compliance practices "Resources created by a Masters-level English Language Acquisition specialist with direct classroom experience supporting emergent bilinguals and students with disabilities. Every resource in this store is built from the intersection of language acquisition theory and special education practice.

Additional biographical information

I hold a dual Master’s degree in Special Education and English Language Acquisition. I have worked extensively with students identified with disabilities with a particular focus on significant behavior needs. My work includes extensive experience supporting emergent bilingual learners within special education, with a focus on culturally responsive practices, language-accessible IEP goals, and behavior supports that account for linguistic and cultural context. In addition to classroom experience, I have served as a Special Education Programs Facilitator, supporting school administrators, staff, and teachers with: IEP compliance and documentation Behavior-based goal development Special education processes and timelines Teacher training and coaching Language acquisition theory and special education practice Systems-level SPED support This dual perspective — special education teacher and compliance facilitator — shapes every resource I create. I design tools that are not only helpful in practice, but also hold up under review, audits, meetings, and most importantly in the classroom.
