For over a decade, I dedicated myself to teaching Family Consumer Sciences in both middle school and high school classrooms. During my time in the classroom, I took on various additional roles, including coaching, serving as a student leadership advisor, and acting as a department chair. More recently, I transitioned to the role of an instructional technology consultant within a school district. In this capacity, I facilitate numerous training sessions for adult learners and staff members

My teaching philosophy centers around student engagement. I believe that when students actively participate, they intrinsically discover more about the content. To achieve this, I emphasize hands-on experiences and collaborative learning. By fostering curiosity and allowing students to explore, I empower them to construct knowledge. Assessments serve as feedback, and I remain adaptable to meet individual needs. In my classroom, students thrive as they engage, question, and develop lifelong learning skills.
