About the store

Experience

I have taught fifth grade for the past 6 years. During that time I have collaborated with student teachers from Korea and China, launched three school-wide initiatives, represented my elementary school as head of technology, and gotten to teach and learn from truly great children, who all have the desire to be well-liked and intelligent behind any veil that may be present.

Teaching style

I teach as if students forgot something rather than me informing them of secret knowledge that only I know. I also greatly employ the use of incentives in my classroom and motivate students to do well by giving them rewards.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Selected as the 2016-2017 teacher of the year at my elementary school. Served as Teacher in Charge at my elementary school. Represented my school to serve on district wide technology committee. Selected as a receiving teacher for the Office of International Training and Professional Studies. Worked alongside international students as their model teacher. Collaborated, planned, highlighted different ways students can demonstrate their knowledge. Assisted technology director in launching 1:1 initiative with Google Apps and Chromebooks across the district.

My own education history

Additional biographical information

I like to meditate and play music! I think space is fascinating and that we all need to take more deep breaths and realize just how humbling it is to be on a spinning rock flying through the middle of absolutely nowhere.
