Use this template to practice reading with fluency. The part of fluency that this focuses on is expression. Reading with different expressions and tones is a fun way for students to practice reading fluently. Students can roll the die and read the passage in the voice of the character rolled.

This pre-test has students putting the sizes of rocks in order from smallest to largest. The story has students take an adventure and meet rocks along the way in order from smallest to largest. Students can then write their own stories to better ingrain the sizes. Then the test can be taken again to check for understanding. This pre-test and story were used along with the FOSS Rocks unit.
