Students scan the QR Code and read the two words. They must then hunt for the contraction made from the two words. They then scan that QR code to get the next clue. Students can use QR Code scanners on iPads.

This pre-test has students putting the sizes of rocks in order from smallest to largest. The story has students take an adventure and meet rocks along the way in order from smallest to largest. Students can then write their own stories to better ingrain the sizes. Then the test can be taken again to check for understanding. This pre-test and story were used along with the FOSS Rocks unit.
