This is an excellent interactive Smartboard activity that has students make addition sentences by manipulating blocks. First students move a number of cubes into each section. Then they count the cube and write the number in the blanks. Finally, they count / add all the cubes to come up with the total. Great for explaining part-part-whole. Can be done as a whole class lesson or as a center activity.

Then they move the corresponding number of ducks down into the box. Finally they write the number in the blanks and add them up by counting the two parts. It is a 4 player game where students roll a dice and try to solve the addition or subtraction problem using mental math. Then the player must choose between greater than, less than or equal to and cover it with their color tile. Lots of fun!
