I have extensive experience teaching in Catholic and classical charter high and middle schools. Areas of teaching experience in high school are: chemistry, biology, anatomy and physiology, marine science, zoology, environmental science, and art. I have also taught middle school math, religion, science, forensics, astronomy, and engineering. I am trained in classical Catholic education in the Dominican tradition and also hold a catechetical certification.

Fetal Pig Dissection Pre-lab Notes/Slides and Laboratory Slides

This bundle include a pre-lab PowerPoint that goes over the major structures and functions of a fetal pig (diagrams and definitions included) with a scaffolded notes worksheet that accompany the slide. Catholic Scientist Classroom Display

A visual display to be used in the classroom to show the harmony between faith (the Catholic faith) and the sciences. This display lists 20+ ancient to modern scientists who were practicing and devout Catholics. The display lists their year of birth, their areas of study, and their contributions to the sciences. In this project, students are independently research a scientist of their choice (from a list given to to them). Students have multiple options of how they present their research from writing a paper, creating a PowerPoint, creating a video, etc. The project is highly detailed and outlines the expectation for the students for each project option. Experience

Teaching style

My teaching style varies depending on the course and grade level I am currently teaching. For the sciences, I lean mostly on lecture style, but incorporate labs, hands on activities, partner work, and work stations to support the lecture and increase understand through demonstrative learning. For Religion, my teach style is more meditative, allowing the students to engage directly with Scripture and Church documents. This is incorporated in with prayer in the Church and times of quite meditation in the classroom to let Scripture sink in and speak to their hearts. This style is mixed with group projects, drawing out Scripture, Scripture memorization (including games), individual projects, and using art and beauty to support the curriculum.

Additional biographical information

I love teaching and creating resources that have the kids and their learning at the core. I have an extensive background in teaching various disciplines and creating my content with the students developmental needs in mind. My resources have been tweaked and fined tuned through the years. After actively teaching for 8 years in the classroom, I am taking some time away from the classroom to focus on ministry and family. I am grateful to be able to provide teachers with great resources to use in their own classroom that meet the needs of their students.
