Activity to use with the book: Eggbert The Slightly Cracked Egg by Tom Ross and Rex Barron After reading the story, have the students fill in the ‘cracks’ in the egg with the things about themselves that make them special
Use this with a conversation about types of self-control and examples of when students need to use self-control. Students will use the prompts to create examples of when to use self-control and what a non-example of using self-control would look like.
Use this venn diagram as part of a discussion on what friends and what frenemies are. This will help students to understand what differences and similarities are present when trying to understand how to be a true friend.
Getting to know you activity. Two styles, one where students can write into puzzle shapes and another where students can draw pictures in blank squares. Fun for beginning of the year or as a check-in.
