Easy Cardboard Robot + Creative Upgrades: remote control, solar power, and more!

This robot won first prize in the Instructables STEM Challenge contest! It's a modular DIY robot made from cardboard and paper circuits using conductive tape. Kids start by building the basic robot and upgrade it step by step with a remote control, solar power, a robot body, and light-up antennas. Kids will learn about robotics, simple electronics, motors, electrical switches, solar power, mechanics, gears, transmissions, and much more! They can even turn it into a programmable robot us

DIY Robotics - Turn smartphones into educational robots! (mega collection!)

This robot won first prize in the Instructables STEM Challenge competition! For the past few years, I've been tinkering to repurpose old smartphones into educational robots for kids. Along the way, I've developed two versions: a modular robot made of paper circuits and simple electronics for younger kids (10 years and older), and a more robust and powerful version for kids aged 12 and older. The programming is identical for both versions! To get an overview of my work, please check out the

Simple DIY Robot - Hands-On Circuits and Mechanics!

A hilarious and engaging robotic project to foster creativity and hands-on experimentation with electronics, mechanics, and design: The Lazy Chameleons (and other lazy animals)! Students will create a simple circuit using conductive tape and build an on/off switch to control a geared motor. The highlight of the project is the clever hook mechanism: The motor’s rotation is translated into a larger movement of the hook, which catches the string to move the robot forward. The finished robot ca
