I graduated in 2000 with a degree in Elementary Education. I was a substitute for two years and then worked at a small Christian school for two years. Having just had my first child, my husband and I either had to move away so I could find a full time teaching job, or I needed to find another career path. I went back to school and got a degree in Nursing. I worked in various settings as a nurse, but always felt pulled back to the classroom. I took a part-time nursing job in the school system to get my foot in the door. From there, I renewed my teaching certificate and applied for teaching jobs as they came. Luckily, it didn't take very long and the same principal that hired me as a nurse took a chance on me as a teacher...and the rest is history. This is my 6th year teaching 2nd Grade, and I continue to love it!
