Students are directed to write an autobiography highlighting five major events in their lives. They will then give a multimedia presentation of one of the five stories for the class. Rubics for both the paper and presentation are included.

After reading Walden or selections from Walden by Henry David Thoreau, students will read two poems and answer questions about how the poems connect to Walden as well as make direct allusions to Walden. There is a question on tone, too, whether the poems are optimistic or pessimistic.
Students have a variety of projects to choose from but must complete one oral, one written, and one artistic. This was used in an Honors English 10 class with rave reviews.
Students write a letter to the author their book and discuss summary (including key plot elements), character analysis, and review of the book. Includes directions and rubric.
