Student reflections increase learning and allow making meaning in the process they are engaged in. The evidence lends support to the importance of reflection in the learning process in a problem based learning environment and how it helps student make meaning and construct understanding of new knowledge. Student reflections are a guide to drive your instruction as a “private” confidential parking lot/exit slip to address understanding. Student reflections also will increase writing skills.

Math & Science Calendars are a great way to have families involved nightly with students completing the calendars daily according to the date. If students complete the calendar for the month provide an incentive.
