A word wall and provocation for exploring hibernating animals. Includes a 4x6 version of the provocation for a photo frame and a regular letter size. I pair this with animal figurines/counters and wooden building materials. You might also choose to pair this with other natural materials for students to experiment.

Students can practice writing numbers 1-10 and represent them with tally marks, a ten-frame and by drawing a picture. Other variations include writing the number as a word, blank number (with one ten-frame), and blank number (with two ten frames). I like to laminate these and use as daily morning work, or as a math centre.
