About the store
Both Kathryn and Erin were selected as Golden Apple Scholars in their preservice years of teaching. As Golden Apple Scholars, Kathryn and Erin spent their summer teaching in inner-city Chicago schools while obtaining 180 hours of professional development each summer. They are both getting ready to begin their fourth year of teaching high school mathematics and business. Kathryn recently obtained her masters in Secondary Mathematics with hopes to teach both college and high school math. Erin recently obtained her masters in Business Administration in order to obtain a second certificate in business. This allows her to teach both math and business at the high school level and business level college level.

Multiplying and Dividing Monomials CSI
The following activity is similar to the game Clue. Students will receive ten clues by answering ten problems correctly. At the end of the packet, the students should know who, with what, and where the crime happened. These are editable so that you can make it school specific. There are 6 teachers, one principal, and the name of your school that will need to be entered. There are instructions for doing this quickly at the bottom of the document. The kids LOVE these!

Parallel, Perpendicular, or Neither Cart Sort with Word Scramble
Students will be given a set of cards with linear equations on them. Students will have to sort them based on whether the two lines are parallel, perpendicular, or neither. Some of the lines need to be solved for y. Once the are sorted, students will flip them over and do the word scramble. Each group represents one word. After unscrambling the words, they will fill in the blanks to a quote.

Adding and Subtracting Polynomials Partner Worksheet
Partner students up in groups of two. One person should get partner A worksheet and the other should get partner B worksheet. Each worksheet has different problems but the same solutions. This allows for students to check whether they have the correct answer. If not, they have to work with their partner to find the mistake.

This worksheet covers central and inscribed angles in/on a circle. It is editable. Partner students up in groups of two. One student will work on the first column and the other will work on the second column. Each student will solve the problems in their column. While their problems are different, their solutions will be the same. This allows them to check their own understanding and work through mistakes together.

Graphing Reciprocal Functions Matching
1) Divide students into groups/pair. 2) Each group will receive a set of cards to match. -This includes a card for reciprocal functions, a card of the graph, and a card stating domain/range, and horizontal/vertical asymptotes. 3) After the students match the cards in groups of three, check with the included answer key.

Rate of Change and Initial Value Partner Worksheets
Included are two worksheets each containing 7 different problems and a key. Each problem asks the student to find both rate of change and initial value of a table, function, or graph. The two worksheet's answers correspond. Pair students in groups of two. Give them a partner 1 and partner 2 worksheet. Students will be divided into groups of two. Each group will receive a laminated wheel. In the corner, it will have answer options that go with each section of the wheel. Students will solve the problems on each section and write the letter with the corresponding answer on the blank section on the outside of the wheel. Check the answers using the attached key.

Volume and Surface Area Around the Room
Different problems will be hung around the room. The answer to the problem the students choose to solve will be in the upper left hand corner of another problem. Students will then do the problem that is on the card with their answer to the previous problem. They will continue around the room until they end up back in the same spot they started. Slope Intercept Form Given Two Points Snowball Fight!
Each student will take out a piece of paper to do their work on. Each Student will be given one question to crumple up. When the lights are turned off, students will begin throwing the "snowballs". There will be a 3-2-1 warning when the lights are getting turned back on. When the lights are on, all throwing stops and students pick a snowball. The students will solve the problem on the snowball and find the matching equation on the board. They will then move to the equation and wait to be checked

Teaching style
Both Erin and Kathryn believe in the "I do, we do, you do" style of teaching. On a typical day, their lessons include a warm up, lecture, pair/group activity, check for understanding, and a short homework assignment will be given. Kathryn teaches block schedule (85 minute periods) while Erin teaches traditional schedule (50 minute periods).
