***TEKS ALIGNED*** In this exploration, students are given four samples of rocks. They identify and record the physical properties of the rock. Then the students match the rock to the rock description on the Rock Detectives page. A word list of the physical properties for the students to reference is included as well. This file is editable in .PPT so that you can use whatever rock samples you choose/have available. Hope your kids love being rock detectives.

***EDITABLE*** Have your students track their progress on the NWEA MAP assessment throughout the year. The tracker is editable for you to add the RIT score and add/delete subjects. After students take the Fall MAP assessment, have them set a goal by drawing a line on the Winter RIT score that they want to reach. That way they can have ongoing goal setting throughout the year.
