I started my education career doing non-traditional education at an AZA accredited zoological facility. While I was there I developed and ran a wide variety of educational programs for school groups and the general public. I then became a long term substitute where I worked in a wide variety of elementary school settings. As a long term sub I was responsible for all the same things as a full-time teacher including lesson planning and data monitoring. I am now entering my second year as a full-time teacher. I have taught as a varying exceptionalities educator serving students in grades K-5, self-contained 4th and 5th grade students with cognitive disabilities, and early intervention for students ages 3-5. After leaving the school district I have served as a graduate assistant for both undergraduate and graduate classes as well as lead professional development opportunities.
