About the store

Experience

My teaching experience includes 18 years in grades K-6. I have taught in both the traditional public school system as well as in an independent charter school specializing in innovation and 21st century skills. I love what I do.

Teaching style

Taking part in developing a passion for learning, inspiring creativity, and fostering positive character traits is what I am all about. I believe in providing an academic environment that offers choice, challenge, and intrinsic motivation. I encourage creativity, exploration, and hands on learning. My students will grow as innovators and original thinkers.

My own education history

My education includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Studies with a concentration in American History from the University of California, Riverside. I received my California teaching credential with a CLAD emphasis from Redlands University. I am highly trained in using SDAIE strategies, and hold an achievement certificate for Gifted and Talented Education. In addition, I received extensive training in incorporating and implementing technology in the classroom. My eighteen years of teaching experience in both the traditional public school and in an independent charter have provided me with abundant teaching strategies to meet the needs of all students.

Additional biographical information

I am a wife and mother of two amazing sons. Away from work, I enjoy spending time with my family. Being that my husband is a teacher as well, there is a lot of “school talk” going on at home all the time. Together, we love camping, bike riding, watching movies, playing board games, and going to theme parks together. I also enjoy reading, taking long walks, browsing teacher websites, getting pedicures, and relaxing with a good cup of coffee.
