I have taught 6th grade, 7th grade, 8th grade remediation, Algebra 2, and AP Statistics. I am currently in the process of becoming a TI Instructor for the NSpire and Navigator system.
Graphing transformations of log. Address horizontal/vertical shifts, reflections, and horizontal/vertical stretch/compress. Students will complete a table, sketch a graph, and identify transformations, asymptotes and domain/range.
Real life situations modeled by the square root function. Students will take a scenario that con be represented with a square root function, and complete a table and/or graph, then answer questions about the data and graph.
Students will match inequalities to word problems to create a system of inequalities. They must then graph the system to determine the feasible region and identify possible solutions.
An excellent way to get students out of their seats and moving around the room! Use this template to create your own scavenger hunt. Select the problems you wish to include. Put one problem on the bottom of each slide, and the indicated answer at the top. Be sure to save this as a template and each time you make your own scavenger hunt save the hunt under a different name.
This is a compilation of worksheets I have created for graphing, transformations, domain/range, vertex, and asymptotes of quadratic, absolute value, rational, radical, exponential, logarithmic, cubic, and cube root functions. Enjoy!
Real world situations modeled with quadratic functions. This worksheet has students examine multiple representations of quadratic models (problem, equation, table, graph).
Quadratics test - properties of quadratics, parameter changes, domain/range, quadratic formula, word problems, matching equations & graphs. I have included two versions of the test.
This is a test review I made to coordinate with Ch5 of the Holt Algebra 2 (TX) textbook. Topics covered include properties of quadratics, imaginary numbers, factoring, and the Quadratic formula. Also check out my quadratics tests!
Test over simplifying radicals, rationalizing the denominator, multiplying radicals, simplifying radicals including variables, and multiplying radicals including variables.
This is a scavenger hunt style review of factoring trinomials. Students will factor the GCF of two monomials, factor a monomial out of a pair of binomials, and factor trinomials (a=1 and a>1) with and without the need for first factoring out a GCF.
A set of 4 versions of a quiz over properties of quadratics given standard form. Students are asked to identify the vertex, axis of symmetry, y-intercept, min/max, zeros, write vertex form, and sketch the graph.
Here is a worksheet with 7 word problems involving quadratic inequalities. Grids are provided for drawing graphs, and space for showing work is available. Students finish the assignment by writing their own word problem (because we have to make sure an enhance writing skills across the curriculum of course).

Teaching style
I believe that learning math must be engaging and meaningful before students will take ownership for it. My person mission in my classroom is to engage my students and make concepts relevant and understandable to even the weakest students while still managing to challenge the brightest.
