About the store
I am an active volunteer in the Scouts Canada movement which has taught me many things in regards to educating children, and how to effectively teach and meet the needs of students with a variety of differences, behaviours, learning styles, etc. My work with children as a camp counsellor and a swim coach/swim instructor have gave me knowledge and experience that has helped me on my teaching journey. Currently I am a pre-service teacher who also works as a substitute. I have a love and passion for teaching and am truly blessed and honoured to be in this field.

Experience

I am an active volunteer in the Scouts Canada movement which has taught me many things in regards to educating children, and how to effectively teach and meet the needs of students with a variety of differences, behaviours, learning styles, etc. My work with children as a camp counsellor and a swim coach/swim instructor have gave me knowledge and experience that has helped me on my teaching journey. Teaching style

I have love the passion and diversity that exists in every classroom and believe it should be celebrated. I have a teaching style that is based on the Universal Design for Learning framework that aims to have teaching practises, strategies, assessments, activities, etc. that allow all students to take part and be present for. I do not want to pin focus to the accommodations being put forth for students but instead design a classroom where the needs of students are already being met. Students will be the driving force in their learning and will be given a voice and encouraged to use it.

My own education history

Went through the Canadian school system graduating high-school with honours with distinction. I started my post-secondary education of by studying psychology covering topics including developmental psychology, and social psychology. I am now a pre-service teacher in primary/elementary eduction (grades K-6).
