About the store
Like many of you, my first "students" were my stuffed animals and my siblings! I have worked in teaching for 20+ years, most recently as a university faculty member who works closely with teachers in the US and around the world. I also help plan and facilitate math and science outreach activities, grant projects, and teacher professional development. Most importantly, I never stop learning myself - so I am always involved in stretching my own understanding of math and science, too - and remembering why I loved them in the first place!

About the store

Experience

Like many of you, my first "students" were my stuffed animals and my siblings! I have worked in teaching for 20+ years, most recently as a university faculty member who works closely with teachers in the US and around the world. I also help plan and facilitate math and science outreach activities, grant projects, and teacher professional development. Most importantly, I never stop learning myself - so I am always involved in stretching my own understanding of math and science, too - and remembering why I loved them in the first place!

Teaching style

My classrooms have always included a lot of dialogue, hands on activities, and problem solving. I always tell my students that I expect them to talk more than I do during a lesson or activity!

My own education history

I have a BS in Mathematics and Social Sciences from William Carey University and a MS in Curriculum (Mathematics Education) and a Phd in Curriculum (Mathematics Education) both from The University of Tennessee - Knoxville.
