About the store
I have worked with students with special needs since I was 15 years old as a respite care worker, special recreation program assistant, and teacher's aide. After graduating high school, I entered into a bachelor's program to obtain my bachelor's in special education (LBS I). I obtained my first professional teaching position on the assistive technology team in 2009 after graduating the bachelor's program. After three years on the AT Team, I moved to a high school classroom for students with moderate to severe autism in a self-contained life skills classroom in the same district. During that time, I had completed a master's program to obtain my LBS II with 2 endorsements. After 6 years with that special ed cooperative, I obtained a brand new assistive technology specialist position in a brand new special education cooperative. I now consult with educational teams to assist in providing quality educational and assistive technology into classrooms and with individual students. I have also worked as a Special Olympics coach, Best Buddies representative, and Union President.

Teaching style

My focus as a special educator are the functional skills that students are learning and how they will apply those skills in the classroom, in the community and throughout their lives. I have a strong philosophy on teaching community based skills, behavioral and self-management skills, daily living skills, social skills, and functional academics.
