This 20-question quiz covers political, weather, physical and product maps. There are matching, multiple-choice and fill-in-the-blank questions, as well as an application section where students use a map of Georgia to answer questions. Although it was geared towards Georgia students, the quiz could be used for any state since all answers are on the map.

I save all the recipes and create a class cookbook that kids can give to parents for the holidays. Parents and kids love this celebration and it's perfect for the last day before Thanksgiving break. This is an 'Oops Pass'. When students forget their homework, are talking too much, forget materials at home, or anyother mistake, they can present me with an 'Oops Pass' that they buy in our class store. Students often purchase a few just in case!
During December, I like my kids to become a 'Secret Santa' and purchase a book for a classmate. We draw names so that kids don't necessarily get a friend. I record all names and photocopy this handout (that way, I can purchase books myself for kids that may not be able to afford a book). Parents love this idea and kids love it too! So much fun to reveal Secret Santas at class holiday parties!
