With experience as an elementary-level educator, and now as a School Counselor, I understand the importance of staying organized and creating impactful lessons.
This activity can be used it many different parts of your lesson! It is a great way to have students connect, give compliments and build relationships. Often times, I will use this activity and my other activities like this, as a warm up to get my students moving and interacting.
I have used this lesson for many years with grades 1-5. This activity can be used around Thanksgiving or any time of year to practice giving compliments and gratitude. Students get to experience how wonderful it feels to give and receive thanks. They experience how powerful their words are and are inspired to spread these powerfully positive emotions. This lesson plan is very simple and can be worked in with different activities or with read-alouds.

Although School Counselors are heroes in disguise, we can not account for everything! This lesson plan bundle is ideal for unexpected situations like sick days, last minute changes of schedule, sub plans, etc. and focuses on an easy topic: kindness.

This is a sign for a School Counseling request slip mailbox. It has a golden foil clip art pineapple in the background. There are 5 background colors included to choose from.
This is an editable & free resource. I am still in the process of tweaking the standards for 3rd-5th grade. I just wanted to upload it for anyone who is looking for a new way to plan and track their classroom lessons.
I use this resource to plan out my bi-weekly classroom school counseling lessons for the year & I use the tracker to check off each class that received each lesson so that I do not get too far ahead/miss an important lesson.
My K-5 rough drafts are included.

This is a very simple request slip for students to use. It has a section for them to rate how big the problem is. There are 4 versions (Counselor, School Psychologist, Social Worker and Dean).
At the beginning of the year, I introduce small and big problems to students so that they understand how to rate and approach their problems.
This a great career/community helpers unit review game! If you are not familiar with this type of game, please read the directions on the first page of the file. This File contains a color version and a black and white version of the cards. There are 28 cards in total. Enjoy!
I hole punch these calming cards and put them on a binder ring for students that are practicing incorporating specific calming strategies into their coping skills. They are small and convenient for students to keep in their desk or pockets. The calming cards have small pictures of each strategy on each card. I even send one ring home for them to use at home and one stays at school. Enjoy!
In my counseling office I have a "lemonade stand", I use this think sheet for students who come in to fill it out, it they are having a rough day. They sit at the lemonade stand and they turn lemons into lemonade ;)
I use the questions from restorative practices to encourage open ended thinking and effective communication.
I created and use this form to help me keep data for child study/IEP meetings. I found that due to classroom lessons and other counseling commitments, I was not able to attend all of the pre-IEP meetings for students that I work with. I created this document to keep all of my data to bring to the meetings I attended and to turn in to the meetings I couldn't attend. This way all of the necessary data to help student growth would be available to our school's child study/IEP team.
