Teaching style

My teaching style is gentle, relational, and literature-centered. I believe children learn best when they are given: rich stories instead of summaries time to think and narrate meaningful conversations rather than busywork beauty with purpose Rather than assigning extensive written output, Willowlight Press resources emphasize oral narration, shared reading, discussion, and carefully chosen written work such as copywork or reflective responses. These materials are designed to be flexible, allowing parents and teachers to adapt pacing and depth to the needs of their children.

Awards & shining teacher moments

While I do not focus on formal awards, my greatest “shining moments” come from: seeing children linger over a story watching reluctant readers engage through shared reading hearing thoughtful narrations and conversations sparked by literature Willowlight Press resources grow out of real homeschool use and are refined through hands-on experience with families and small groups.

My own education history

I am a homeschool educator with experience teaching multiple ages and stages, from early elementary through middle school. My work has been shaped by: the Charlotte Mason approach to learning years spent reading, sharing, and teaching classic literature practical experience adapting lessons to fit real family rhythms Rather than following a single boxed curriculum, I create resources that grow out of living books, careful attention to children, and hands-on teaching experience. Each resource is designed to be gentle, flexible, and meaningful, while still offering depth and substance.
