This is a very engaging lab that gets kids hands on experience with growing plants in the classroom. I did this with 7th graders during our life science unit. We grew tomatoes, zinnias, pole beans and cilantro in the window sills for several weeks. We used small bathroom cups for seed starters and I used printer box lids as trays to hold all the cups. Later on I had the students bring in recyclables like 2 liter bottles and they built planters to put their grown seedlings in. Science Stand
