I used this to help explain cost vs benefits for the environmental issues portion of 6th grade science. Students will research the cost of a hybrid car and it's gasoline model using the Internet. They will then calculate the cost of gas for each car over a 5 year period of time. The students will then see if the cost of a hybrid car is worth the larger sticker price. This correlates with VA sol 6.9d.
This is 24 task cards aligned with Virginia Science SOL 6.6 I print these on card stock to play a game of Scoot with, by taping them onto desk and putting a timer up on the board for 45 seconds. The 45 seconds may be longer than the students need, but it helps them to learn "wait times" for the BIG test questions.

This is what I use for students to enter their answers when we are playing Scoot with task cards. It's a word document, so you can add or subtract lines as needed.
