Experience

Wonder & Flow is born from a unique blend of classroom insight, homeschooling heart, and a passion for streamlined organization. With over a decade of teaching experience across various settings—from guiding TK-3rd grade learners in Montessori and traditional classrooms, to fostering growth as a reading specialist and K-12 ELA/K-8 Math tutor—I've seen the diverse needs of educators firsthand. As a homeschooling mom and a neurodiverse individual, I also intimately understand the journey of creating joyful, inclusive, and effective learning environments at home. My five years running an online systems and automations business have empowered me with the expertise to create practical resources that bring clarity, calm, and efficiency to your teaching, homeschooling, and educational workflows.

Teaching style

At Wonder & Flow, my teaching style is an intentional blend designed to spark curiosity and cultivate seamless learning. Beyond diverse classroom experiences (TK-5th, Montessori, reading specialist), my online tutoring has honed my skill in leveraging a variety of interactive digital resources, from engaging games to dynamic escape room challenges. As a homeschooling mom, I excel at tailoring resources specifically to each child, thoughtfully blending paper and digital materials with hands-on manipulatives to give students multiple opportunities to work with various materials. This eclectic approach is deeply informed by training in Lindamood-Bell (On Cloud Nine, Visualizing & Verbalizing, Seeing Stars), Positive Discipline, and Handwriting Without Tears, and a commitment to science-backed SEL like MindUp. Collaborating with special education educators, and as a neurodiverse individual myself, I infuse my resources with tried-and-true strategies that truly support neurodiverse learners, fostering organized, grounded, and joyful learning for all.

Awards & shining teacher moments

For me, the true 'shining moments' are found in the daily breakthroughs of student understanding and growth. I'm especially proud of seeing students significantly increase their reading levels through targeted intervention strategies. Fostering collaborative and engaging learning environments has always been a passion, particularly when implementing Montessori methods that truly transformed the classroom. It's been incredibly rewarding to support and train fellow teachers and aides, seeing them thrive and grow. Today, these moments extend to the joy of guiding my own children in their homeschooling journey and witnessing their "wonder and flow" as they learn, all while building efficient systems that bring that same calm and clarity to classrooms and homes worldwide

My own education history

My educational journey has equipped me with a diverse foundation for teaching and learning. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with a Minor in Child Development from California State University Chico. I hold a Multiple Subject & English Credential (TK-9) from California State University Monterey Bay, alongside a Montessori Diploma (Lower Elementary) from the North American Montessori Center. My specialized training further includes a TEFL Advanced Certificate in Teaching English Online, and workshops in Lindamood-Bell and Handwriting Without Tears. As a lifelong learner, I continuously expand my knowledge through a variety of courses, group programs, challenges, and extensive self-study of books, blogs, and podcasts. This includes deep dives into systems & automation, sales & marketing, meditation & nervous system regulation, and understanding ADHD, high-functioning anxiety, and highly sensitive people. I also explore areas like lifeskills, art therapy, journaling, and spirituality, all of which enrich the holistic and practical resources I create for Wonder & Flow.

Additional biographical information

Beyond the world of education and systems, I'm a passionate lifelong learner with a love for creativity and adventure. My free time is often spent immersed in the imaginative realms of fantasy & sci-fi books and movies, and dreaming of new travel destinations. I enjoy the hands-on fun of cooking and baking (though less so during the Texas summer heat!), and constantly try new things, whether it's brewing kombucha, making candles, or creating a new digital resource for Wonder & Flow. My home is a lively zoo with my husband, two homeschooling kids, two dogs, a cat, a snake, and fish! To find my own sense of "flow," I love moving my body through yoga, running, and walking, often in nature, soaking in the sunshine and grounding myself to the earth.
