While I have taught all levels of High School English in Tennessee, Honors and Standard Freshmen have been my focus for my eleven years in the profession!

I love to push my students in Socratic-style discussions of literature, writing, and test-taking strategies for their state tests, ACT, and AP tests. We use a lot of student and exemplar writing in class.

I graduated from The University of Mount Union (Alliance, OH) in 2012 with a Bachelor's Degree in English: Literature, and minors in both Adolescent-to-Young-Adult Education, and Music!

I currently live in Nashville, TN with my dog and cat, and only a little way down the road from my fiancé (though not nearly close enough, she tells me)! I love teaching Freshman English and have done so for most of my eleven years teaching, but I'm also passionate about AP Language and Composition, AP Seminar, AP Research, and helping English Teachers incorporate data collection/analysis to their classrooms. When not grading student essays, I love to hike the Warner Parks with my dog, pick up comics from The Great Escape, or play Baulder's Gate 3 from between the cushions of my couch.
