Workaholic NBCT

I am a National Board Certified Teacher and have taught elementary school for the past thirteen years. I have taught 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 6th grade. I currently present on Promethean's ActivInpsire Software at local and National conferences, my husband and I love creating art, DIY projects, instructional guides, and helping teachers to make their flipchart lessons more interactive and engaging for their students!

I do TONS of formative assessment and individualize instruction for each of my kiddos. I find that this has produced the best results and increased achievement in all areas, but especially reading and math. I don't waste any time teaching kids things they already know. Some students in my third grade class are working on multiplying three digit by two digit numbers while others are still learning their multiplication facts. I do this by using formative assessment to guide my instruction, and summative assessments to see what my students have learned. I also incorporate TONS of center activities and group work throughout the day so students can work together and learn together. I use a Promethean Activboard 500 Touch along with Activexpression 2's, an Activslate, and Activsound in my daily classroom instruction. I teach with a variety of Promethean flipchart lessons that I create for my students and also include on my AmazingClassroom site for other teachers.
