World Language Corner

After I graduated in 2014, I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I spent the next three years teaching English in Spain, and through my experience I knew that teaching is what I wanted to do. I am now a licensed teacher in the United States.

I think every class needs both structure and flexibility. With all of my classes and lessons there is a predictable structure to follow, but I also like to change things up within my structure to accommodate the constantly changing needs of the students and the unpredictable events of this world. I also think that establishing value is critical to student attitude and willing engagement. I always try to demonstrate why everything I teach has value to the students' future. The last thing that I integrate into my classes is perspective. Without different perspectives we have no education - only the opinions of the educator. For this reason I try to give different accounts of the same topic to nuance and challenge the students while also deepening their understanding of the content.

I travel, I teach and I write. I travel as often as I can to discover everything this world has to offer. I am a state certified and licensed educator that has taught in the United States and Europe. My next endeavor is to teach in Asia. I write both professionally and casually for my website, online publications and a number of books that I am working on.
