I have taught as a classroom and specialist teacher in a range of schools and across all age levels since 2001. I have also homeschooled and tutor.

Teaching style
I have a hybrid teaching style that blends discussion, videos and hands on learning experiences in the classroom to enhance student engagement, love of learning and knowledge acquisition.

My own education history
I grew up in South Africa and attended a mixed primary then a girls-only high school.
Following that I moved to New Zealand and attended university, completing two degrees conjointly (Science and Arts), majoring in Geography and Spanish.
The next year, I completed a post-graduate diploma in primary teaching and haven't looked back.
I have since completed the year-long Reading Recovery programme and Structured Literacy training, as well as a Certificate in Applied e-Learning (digital learning & course creation).
Additional biographical information
I love working with kids, helping them to acquire new knowledge and skills.
I also love creating resources to make learning and teaching easier.
Travel, gardening and spending time outdoors with family and friends are other passions.
