About the store
Hi, I'm Sam and I have taught writing for 15 years in schools and privately across all year levels. I’ve seen first-hand how the right lesson and support material can unlock student success in writing. I created Scriibi, which provides schools with assessment, content, and professional development in writing. This store contains my personal top picks that were a hit with my students! I love designing lessons that engage, inspire, and deliver results. Each lesson contains worksheets and handouts that are carefully structured as a scaffold, to help students master a specific writing skill before confidently applying it to their own work. These resources are practical, research-informed, and created to make writing a positive, achievable experience for every learner. Teaching style

My approach is based on best teaching practices like explicit teaching and the I DO, WE DO, YOU DO model, which is reflected in all my lessons. This is where students watch the teacher as they model, they then practise with support, and finally they have a go independently. I'm more process rather than product driven, and believe students all learn at different rates and there is no one size fits all. It is my aim to instil a love of language and empower my students to feel like successful writers in every step of the writing process.

Awards & shining teacher moments

🎓 SWINBURNE UNIVERSITY research confirmed Scriibi's impact and found: ✨Simplified and clarified the teaching of writing ✨ Improved consistency and reduced planning burden ✨ Supported targeted, differentiated instruction aligned with the curriculum ✨ Built teacher confidence and instructional clarity

My own education history

I have always had a passion for literacy, in particular developing students' writing skills. Early in my career I started diving into research on how to teach writing, everything from clear goals to high-impact strategies, and brought those ideas into my own classroom. Seeing my students’ progress, including stronger National Writing Test results, showed me what was possible. That led me into consulting, where I worked alongside schools to build teacher capacity and confidence in writing instruction. Along the way, I created Scriibi, a curriculum-aligned framework to make the teaching of writing clearer and more practical for teachers.
