Numbers and Symbols
This product is designed to help students recognize that numerals are symbols that represent a specific quantity. Part of CCSS 2.MD.5 is using equations with a symbol for an unknown number to represent a problem. This pack contains activities that will help your students grasp the concept of letters and other symbols representing quantities. I've taken it a step further, so students are solving the equations to find the value of the letter or symbol.

Teaching style
I prefer to provide my students with activities and experiences that lead them towards discovery of new information. My students work collaboratively in pairs and small groups most of the time. This way, their learning is more authentic.
My own education history
I graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Go Pokes!

I love the great outdoors! I love teaching my kids about other places in the world, and about life outside our school. It's the best part of teaching!
