I've taught one year of kindergarten, then 3 years of 2nd grade. I teach in a Title I school, so it can get a little overwhelming at times. However, these experiences are gifts, and I have a million and one hilariously unbelievable stories of what goes on in a day in the life of a teacher!

Addition and Subtraction Word Problems for All Seasons
I don’t know about you all, but my kiddos can never get too
much practice with word problems! However, they can also
get bored with the old run-of-the-mill, “marbles in a jar”
questions. So I decided to create a set of themed and
seasonal addition and subtraction word problems!
Then I moved from teaching 2nd grade to kindergarten. They
need different kinds of word problems, so I made a second set
with less complicated number combinations.

Teaching style
I prefer to provide my students with activities and experiences that lead them towards discovery of new information. My students work collaboratively in pairs and small groups most of the time. This way, their learning is more authentic.
My own education history
I graduated from Oklahoma State University with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Go Pokes!
Additional biographical information
I love the great outdoors! I love teaching my kids about other places in the world, and about life outside our school. It's the best part of teaching!
