Informational Text, U.S. History, Writing-Expository
This includes vocabulary picture and sentence cards for all of the vocabulary words in Unit 3 of the Imagine It! curriculum. Each vocabulary word comes with 3 - 6 pictures and sentences. I glue each of these onto construction paper, color coded by word. Then I attach a definition and part of speech label on the back. This allows me to easily pass the vocabulary words from group to group, allowing each group to write the definitions, sentences, and draw pictures on their vocabulary organizers
This is a sample of my SIOP vocabulary cards I use for each of my stories. This includes some of my vocabulary cards for Lesson 1. I glue each of these to different colored construction paper with each word having its own color. Then we move the cards around the table groups using a timer so they can see the words used many ways along with several different pictures. This helps with sentence writing and nonlinguistic representations of each word. The students love it because it allows them
