Use this ppt as a review for the week prior to reading and or science testing. I dress up in Fatigues and we march around we do pushups and jumping jacks, we go all out! The kids buy in and it is a great fun week powerhousing them with last minute review strategies! My kids love it! The 7th graders can't wait till the next year to participate! Adapted trashketball to STAAR questions and content questions for review for 8th grade STAAR. They are color coded by categories. The beginning is in specific color scheme, but towards the end they are mixed in to have variety. I have added questions over the last couple years to make them more valid from the released questions. I hope your kids love it as much as mine did/do!

Here are 4 different math sections covering real world math. You can use them as bell work, hw, or however. Some have realistic scenarios to upper elementary, some from MS, to HS. I have included answer keys, and questions that will allow for students to use critical thinking skills and strike conversations. Students use these flashcards to play the Kagan strategy of Quiz Quiz Trade. Each student has a card with vocabulary on it, then they find a partner, each one quizzes the other then they trade cards and locate a new partner. Great way to move and learn or review vocabulary for this unit. I do one for all my units! Then come semester I use them all. Students use websites to locate answers to questions regarding the benefits and disadvantages of Genetic Engineering. What risks are involved? How does it affect the world? What ethical questions are there? This is a fantastic computer activity for students to find information on an enrichment activity for the Genetics and Heredity unit.

This is a program that helps review for AZ Merit and the tactics used to conquer the test. I have adapted it to AZ Merit, it was original to TAKS with help of peers. These are a compilation of ice breakers that can be used for all ages. This is a simple way to reemphasize areas that are found on state tests covering Punnett squares and Heredity. I used this after our test to reteach weak areas, however you could use prior to test and during lessons. I also used the pen tool to write on them as we went over each slide.

Students research scientists and create a wanted poster with all the requirements. Students can learn about many scientists by doing one poster and then having a gallery walk to gather info about other scientists. I have included some basic information about scientists that are commonly researched for MS science. I also include websites to help the research process. Print these on paper or cardstock, laminate and cut to use them as Q Q switch cards to break the ice at the beginning of the year. This will get students ready for future QQ switch usage with vocabulary or review for unit testing etc. You will notice, there are Ice breaker questions, as well as procedure type questions. This is basic matter and chemistry information. Each part is a couple days to a week long worth of activities. Students can use this as a flipped classroom lesson, or more appropriate for homeschool students.
