Product Description

Are you ready to enter the haunted house? This activity will welcome your students into a haunted house filled with 10 spooky characters in this classroom transformation while they practice third grade math concepts! When they complete all ten challenges, they get to celebrate with a certificate of completion (and some tricks or treats)!

Spiral math review can be difficult for third graders if not used often and this activity is great practice to make sure they remember those skills taught earlier in the year.

⭐ What is This? ⭐

Students pretend they are in a Halloween Haunted House while reviewing

third grade math concepts! Students complete 10 math challenges that are great spiral review and Halloween-themed.

Step 1: Tell your class that they are on a mission to explore a Haunted House today. They complete 10 challenges! Students solve all ten math challenges in this fun spiral review.

Step 2: Students solve a math challenge. Then, they get it checked by the teacher. The teacher signs their recording sheet to show completion of each challenge. When a student finishes the Monster Challenge, they get the monster signed on their recording sheet!

Step 3: After students complete all ten challenges, I have them complete a QR Code writing activity. This is great for early finishers! Kids go around the room and hunt down the QR Codes. They scan them to learn fun facts about Halloween!

Step 4: There is an optional part of this Halloween Activity! This can be added in or taken out—do what’s best for your classroom! Every time the kids complete a challenge, they get to pull out a chance card that either says “Trick” or “Treat on it. If the card says “Trick”, they place their hand in one of the Trick Bags to see what it feels like. If the cards says “Treat”, they get to take a piece of candy from the Treat Bag!
