These games are perfect for keeping your 3rd graders busy during the month of October in math! I like to use these when my students have free time in math and as an early finisher activity. I leave them in our math center bins for the whole month and anytime the students have free time during math, they can work on them. The goal is to try and finish all ten math centers by Halloween.

I keep track of which Halloween math centers each student has completed by using the recording sheet that is included. It comes in a color and black and white version.

The nice thing about these games is that they are all included in color and black and white as well. You can print them out, laminate them, and use them again year after year. They are low-prep and easy to implement.

There are also directions included for each game so students always know what to do. Each game goes along with a candy corn character to make it engaging and fun for kids!

Halloween Multiplication and Division Fact Families Cards

There are 24 spooky cards included where students have to figure out the missing number on each fact family triangle. This game aligns with 3.OA.4 and 3.OA.6.

Color by Number Rounding

Students color in the pumpkin based on what each number rounds to. They round each number to the nearest hundred. This game aligns with 3.NBT.1.

Multiplication Equations Using Pictures

There are 24 cards included. Students have to figure out the equation that goes with each Halloween group of items. There are zombie eyeballs, pumpkins, candy corns, and more included! This game aligns with 3.OA.1.

Multiplication and Division Word Problems

There are 24 spooky word problems included. Students match up each answer with the corresponding word problem. Students have to decide if each word problem includes multiplication or division and then solve for the answer. This game aligns with 3.OA.3.

Rounding to the Nearest Ten Error Analysis

This is a witch's cauldron game! Each cauldron needs to be rounded to the nearest ten within 1000. Students have to figure out if the card was rounded correctly or incorrectly. If it is rounded correctly, it goes in the TRUE pile. If it was rounded incorrectly, it goes in the FALSE pile. This game aligns with 3.NBT.1.

Multi-Digit Subtraction Error Analysis

Every task card in this game helps third grade students practice subtraction. Kids solve each problem to check the answer. If the answer is correct, students put a happy Halloween emoji next to it. If the answer is incorrect, students put a frowny Halloween emoji next to it. It's a great way to informally check students' subtraction skills. This game aligns with 3.NBT.2.

Multiplication Fact Puzzle

This Halloween puzzle helps students practice their multiplication facts in a pretty cool way! Students will discover after they put the whole puzzle together that it turns into a haunted house! It is perfect for multiplication fact fluency and aligns with 3.OA.7.

Division Fact Sort

All of the ghosts in this game have a division equation written on them. The ghosts have to be sorted into the correct haunted house. So if a ghost equals 2, it needs to go in the #2 haunted house. It's a great game to practice division and is fun at the same time! This game aligns with 3.OA.2.

Geometry Drawing

Students have to draw a geometry monster using the clues given. They have to use their knowledge of geometry terms and shapes to draw the monster accurately. There are 8 clues included and creativity is also a plus in this activity. This game aligns with 3.G.1.

Halloween Logic Puzzles

There are 5 Halloween brain teasers included in this Halloween Extravaganza! Students have to use their knowledge of multiplication and division to figure out the answer to each one. There are a variety included so differentiation is possible when giving each student one to solve. This game aligns with 3.OA.1, 3.OA.2, and 3.OA.7.
