Looking for more practice with word problems for your 5th (or even 4th) graders? Let’s face it, many of our students have a hard time figuring out which operation(s) word problems are asking them to do. I’ve found I can never have enough word problems on hand for them to practice with.

Cards 1-8 are single step word problems
Cards 9-20 are multi-step word problems

How to use this resource…
- Print, cut, laminate, shuffle cards and GO
These are perfect for:
- Independent center or station work (or play SCOOT around the room)
- Activity for fast finishers
- Small group or intervention
- Homework option (leave intact)
- Enrichment or remediation depending on student level
- Assessment prep
- Use as a ticket out the door, picking one to complete as a quick check for understand and/or spiral concept throughout the year
Alignment/Grade level:
- Texas: 5.3K readiness, 5.3B supporting, 5.3C supporting, 4.4A readiness, 4.4H readiness, 4.4D supporting, 4.4F supporting
- Common Core: 4.OA.A.3, 4.NBT.B.4, 4.NBT.B.6, 5.NBT.B.5, 5.NBT.B.6, 5.NBT.B.7
- Can be used for accelerated 3rd graders or intervention for 6th graders
(Numbers are geared more toward 5th grade level but can work great for higher 4th graders too). Students will also have to interpret remainders and need to know how to multiply 2x2 and 3x2 digits.
