S’more Math: Multiples Game
Each student gets a plate and all of the s'more pieces go into the middle. Students get to build a s'more while practicing with fourth grade multiples. Each time a question is answered, they get to take a part of their s'more from the middle. The first person to finish building their s'more is the winner. Students are asked if each number is a multiple of another number. Aligns with 4.OA.4.
Unicorn Jumpin’: Place Value Game
Help the unicorns jump over the correct rainbows! Each unicorn matches up with a different rainbow based on the word form and expanded form on each card. Great practice for students that need extra work with place value with numbers within 10 million. Aligns with 4.NBT.1.
Line Them Up: Subtraction Game
This is a great game for partners OR a small group of students. There are two sets included so teams can race! Students have to line the cards up in order and be the first ones to lay down the finish cards signaling the end of the game. This is a self-checking game which is easy for students to play and self-correct when they make a mistake! I like using this for my students who need extra practice with subtraction within 10 million. Aligns with 4.NBT.4
Acorn Mix Up: Addition Game
The acorns have gotten mixed up! Give each squirrel the acorn that belongs to them. This is great practice for students practicing solving addition problems within 10 million. Aligns with 4.NBT.4.
QR Codes: Estimation Game
Students solve each card and use the QR Codes on each card to figure out the mystery phrases! Three included. This is good practice for students learning to estimate answers (sums and differences) to the nearest thousand and keeps students engaged while they try to figure out each mystery phrase! Aligns with 4.OA.3.
Scarecrow Problems: Estimation Word Problems Game
Students lay out the estimation word problem cards. They decide which are correct and which are not. They put a thumbs up or thumbs down next to each scarecrow to show which are correct. This is great error analysis practice for fourth graders! Aligns with 4.OA.3.
Let’s Grow a Garden: Multi-Step Add and Subtract Word Problems Game
Each time students answer question cards, they get to add part of their garden to their picture. They add a stem or flower top each time. The first person to answer six questions and fill up their garden wins the game! Great multi-step addition and subtraction word problem practice. Aligns with 4.OA.3.
Apple Orchard: Factors Game
Uh Oh! All of the apples have fallen off the trees in the apple orchard. Students put each apple on the correct tree that it is a factor of in the orchard. Great practice for finding all of the factors of a number. Aligns with 4.OA.4
Fall Rounding Task Cards
There are 30 rounding task cards included where students have to round numbers within 10 million to the place value digit listed. Students round to the nearest ten, hundred, thousand, ten thousand, hundred thousand, or million depending on the card. Aligns with 4.NBT.3.
Grab It: Prime and Composite Game
Students lay out all of the kid cards holding prime and composite signs. Then, they flip over one sunflower card that shows a number. The students decide if the number on the card is a prime or composite number and look for the answer on the floor. The first person to yell “Grab It!” and find the matching card wins that round. The person with the most cards at the end of the game wins! Aligns with 4.OA.4.
These games can be used for elementary children as a worksheet alternative, game printables, math stations, center rotations, math centers, in guided math, as enrichment or remediation, in small groups, as test prep, homework practice (take what you don’t finish home for homework), and so much more! These engaging math activities are made to be flexible so you can use them however you’d like in your classroom. Every game now comes with a recording sheet and answer key.
