Description
I developed this resource to help facilitate students' learning of the WRITING multiple choice questions on the AP Language exam. My students found this material useful because it engages them in a video lesson that provides a walk-though of a WRITING passage with problem solving steps to attack each multiple choice question with that passage.
What's here:
- The video on my YouTube channel (55 minutes) is hyperlinked in the documents.
- The scaffolded notes organizer keeps students accountable as they work with the video and is chunked into different sections by problem type and contains time markers aligned to the video to help students stay focused and grasp new knowledge.
- The full Google Slide Deck that I use in the video, so that you can adapt/use it as you wish. The slides contain question type identification and key terminology to know in order to answer the Multiple Choice Writing Questions on the exam.
- I also include a Google Doc (hyperlinked in the assignment) of the actual test passage and questions.
HOW: I assign this on Google Classroom and have students work independently through this video overview for homework over a week, and then we jump in together to review key problems from the video. I like having student leaders facilitate problem solving strategies with the class after viewing/note taking. Students also like this resource because they can return to it at any point before the exam. Students have also found this useful for the SAT.
Note: The preview below is the full slide deck, watermarked for preview purposes. I have included screen shots of the additional documents in this file.
