Description
Adding and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers with like denominators is more engaging with these fraction math coloring sheets ~ more engaging than regular fractions worksheets!
- In these adding and subtracting like fractions coloring activities, students solve 15 or 20 problems. Students will know whether or not they solved correctly - if their answer is incorrect, they won't find it on the coloring sheet or the digital coloring pages!
- Use the sheets for fun days, sub days, centers, assessments, homework.
In this activity, students add and subtract fractions and mixed numbers with like denominators.
- Students find the solution number on the coloring page and color it with the color indicated.
- Students will immediately know whether or not they solved correctly - if their answer is incorrect, they won't find it on the coloring sheet!

Problems require students to:
- Add and subtract fractions (and a few mixed numbers) that have like denominators
- Simplify fractions
In this easy-prep adding and subtracting fractions coloring resource:
1) Three print versions to give you some differentiation possibilities.
- OR, you can use one version in class and another for homework, future review days, or even for a sub day:
Version A:
- 20 questions, with 6 word problems
- Uses mixed numbers in some problems
Version B:
- 20 questions using the same numbers in the problems as version A, but no word problems
- Different coloring pattern
Version C:
- 15 questions
- No mixed numbers in the problems; some mixed numbers in the answers
- Different coloring pattern
2) One digital version (could also be used in PPT):
- Same problems and design/colors as print Version C.
- Students type their answers in the answer box
- Students select the shapes in the pattern and color with the ‘Fill Color’ bucket.
- Questions are not editable (they’re part of background), but shapes and numbers on the slide are moveable/editable
- Coloring instructions and link for digital are found in the PDF.
