Description
This "Using Doubles" set includes both printable AND digital practice for equations through 20! In my 22 years of teaching, I’ve learned to promote success through scaffolding instruction, differentiating to meet students’ needs, and giving children multiple opportunities to learn a skill. With all this in mind, I have included flash cards, number lines, three simple no-prep games, one additional no-prep center, and three chants, all thoughtfully scaffolded into the following sections:
- Learning Doubles
- The Doubles +1 Strategy: 3 Addends
- The Doubles +1 Strategy: 2 Addends
The final center gives children the opportunity to show four ways to solve a problem and can be used daily throughout the year. Note that I'm working on "Part 2" of this packet, which will include "Doubles -1," "Doubles +2," and "Doubles -2" strategies.
This set can be used in isolation. It also logically follows my "Commutative Property of Addition" and "Counting On" sets. Please click on the titles to see these.
