Description
Make new friends...while making bar graphs, a great back to school activity!
This 28- page packet gets students up out of their seats, interacting with one another while learning fundamental math skills.
NO PREP
Each 'favorites category' comes with its own pre-made bar graph template and labels.
Each of these graphs is followed by an "interpret the data" sheet that guides students in evaluating the data they've collected.
Students learn all about one another while simultaneously learning how to :
1. record information on bar graphs
2. analyze and interpret data from these graphs
3. evaluate the results and answer questions about their findings
4. use "math language" and apply math skills to meaningful, relevant, "real life" information:
*Which hobbies were chosen the same, or equal, amount of times?
*What color did most of your classmates like the best?
*Which book genre was chosen the least amount of times?
* Which sport was chosen the greatest number of times?
*How MANY MORE times was the favorite holiday chosen over the least favorite holiday?
*How many more times was the favorite dessert chosen over the least favorite dessert?
.....and many more!
