I used this card sort to kick off the first unit of the year, It opened up some great discussion about graphing behaviors, allowed my students to utilize the graphing calculator to check their matches before I did. Students had a great time and so did I watching them.

This was a GREAT activity for my high school students! They enjoyed it, and the automatic feedback was great :) The only concern I have, is that the author be sensitive to multicultural classrooms. I teach in a predominantly low socio-economic, and predominantly LATIN-X community. The ability to change the "student" that they click on from a white, blond-haired student to one that fits the demographics of our students would have been more culturally sensitive. Would have also liked to change the bright pink borders to something more neutral. Other than that, the mathematics was wonderful!

Understand that a function from one set (called the domain) to another set (called the range) assigns to each element of the domain exactly one element of the range. If 𝘧 is a function and 𝘹 is an element of its domain, then 𝘧(𝘹) denotes the output of 𝘧 corresponding to the input 𝘹. The graph of 𝘧 is the graph of the equation 𝘺 = 𝘧(𝘹).
