Chapter 1 - Intro and Methods - Class Notes

This is a note outline that coordinates with Chapter 1, Intro and Methods, of the BJU (Bob Jones University) PRESS Fifth Edition Earth Science textbook.

I give students copies of this note outline. I project the note outline on the whiteboard and we fill in notes together as we read the text. This teaches students notetaking skills and reinforces learning. You can scaffold their notetaking, by having them take their own notes, without your help if you feel they are ready.

Most note outlines will include hyperlinks to fun web content that supports the lesson.

I've included most of the end of section discussion questions in these notes. The solutions to these are found in the teacher's editions of the text.

I've also included my personal notes. This is roughly what I will write on the board and discuss as we go through the chapter.

**BONUS** Chapter specific warm up sheets. I have a bell ringer on the board every day. Students keep these and turn them in during their note check. Notice, I have a theme bible verse for every chapter that we review during warm up activities.
